Pattaya’s International Fireworks Competition returns 16 to 17 December to honour HM the King’s 84th birthday that was celebrated 5th December.

Tourism Authority of Thailand’s Pattaya joins the Pattaya City and Ministry of Defence to host the fireworks competition at the eastern seaboard resort’s beach road.

Displays will use around 100,000 fireworks.

Firework teams from 10 countries will attend: China; Japan; Denmark; Germany; United States; United Arab Emirates; Australia; Italy and Thailand.

“Visitors and residences will be able to see the displays from a distance of 3 km,” said TAT Pattaya office director, Atthaphon Wannakit. “Also there will be music performances and a street fair.”

Last year, the event was held in August to mark HM the Queen’s birthday and was scheduled this year for November but was moved due to floods in Bangkok.
